Greeting everyone! I am Sokha. It is nice to see you are here.
I become freelancer after being last employed by the Cambodia Daily Newspaper from January 15 to September 16, 2012.
Previous to this, I served the Community Legal Education Center (CLEC) as a full time translator. I started working here in February 2007 and ended in January 2012. My main translation task is to translate legal documents from and to English or Khmer.
From January 2006 to February 2007, I was employed by VBNK, an institute to serve facilitators of development, where I provided translation of different types of documents which include training materials such as management, organizational development, Occupational Health Safety, and more.
CLEC, VBNK and BABC (Bridge Across Border Cambodia) which is now EC (Equitable Cambodia) have been my my existing client.
I started a career as a translator and/or an interpreter in 1992 when the UNAMIC (the United Nations Advance Mission in Cambodia) arrived in Cambodia.
Then I was employed as a translator and/or an interpreter by the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (known as UNTAC) in 1993, the United Nations Office of the Secretary-General in Cambodia in 1998, GTZ/EUEOM (European Union Elections Observation Mission to Cambodia in 2002 and 2003, and by UNICEF/EUEOM in 2008.
In addition, I worked as an assistant to General Manager of a Company, Korex Plastic and to a consultant on education development and management for Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. During working for these people, I assisted them in translating documents related to their work.
From these work experience, I have strong knowledge in the field of laws, human rights, development, management, education, and more ...
My extensive experience on such different fields lead me to start this translation and editing services in which high quality and standard translation will be provided.
